Project Story : Pankaj & Ritu’s Residence – MIG Colony, Bandra

Pankaj & Ritu’s Residence – AUK Design Studio

 Project Details & Story

Client : Pankaj & Ritu

I describe the residence situated in the plush locality of Bandra as a 2000sft Spacious, minimalistic yet vibrant, without barriers or a less cluttered layout, and for every room to reflect the identity of the individual using the space, may it be the individual bedrooms or the bathrooms or even the kitchen.

The challenge was to strike the right proportion of furniture detail aiming not to over or under do the said space, hence the usage of Jali Patterns in a very visually appealing way in the living and dining space, along with a hint of lite pattern going on the sofas giving the space a customised and über cool appearance.

The contrast of the light veneer and dark walnut flooring in the Master bedroom varying to a studio apartment like visual appeal for the sons bedroom with stark orange and a honey comb structured back lit book case providing vibrancy and a young and smart appeal to the space.

The daughters bedroom has been given a clean look in terms of furniture detailing and a matching two tone colour palate of white and olive green making the space look more feminine and of the daughters age, adding floor lights and reverse lilting the ceiling is one concept we have played with in this particular project, giving and alternate mode of mood lighting other than the usual warm LED spot lights and coves.

The kitchen excused cool with a combination of white core laminate and an Oak laminate to add contrast to the cooking zone.the usage of art is abstract and in a contemporary modern way suiting and blending with the space at almost every corner. All the bathrooms are done with keeping in mind that since there is no natural lite pouring in the artificial lighting had to be bright and creative, hence the usage of a lot of Hidden cabinet lights! Along with an optimal usage of mirrors to make the bathrooms look bigger than what they actually are. the USP of the house has got to be the balcony design which is simple yet elegant in appeal, the use of the wooden square deck tile with just a single relaxing chair with outdoor studio like track lights and planters arranged in a very creative way and the view of the dark blue sky overlooking the lush green MIG club ground is quiet charming in itself.
